If New Zealand basketball prospect Sam Timmins is as skilled as Washington Huskies coach Lorenzo Romar believes him to be, then UW might have just signed an important piece of its 2016-17 roster.
Timmins, a 6-foot-10, 250-pound center from New Zealand’s South Island, signed a national letter of intent on Wednesday to play for the Huskies. As a 2016 recruit, he won’t arrive at UW until the 2016-17 season. But Romar seems to think Timmins could be an impact player as a freshman.
